En Vogue is an American vocal girl group that emerged from Oakland, California, in 1989, originally consisting of singers Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones. The group made a significant impact on the music scene with their debut album, Born to Sing, released in 1990, which achieved multi-platinum status and featured the hit single "Hold On," reaching No. 2 on the US Hot 100. This album established their reputation as a leading vocal group and introduced their harmonious blend of R&B, soul, and pop.

In 1992, En Vogue released their follow-up album, Funky Divas, which continued their commercial success, reaching the top 10 in both the US and UK. The album included notable singles such as "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" and "Free Your Mind," and received five Grammy nominations.
