Bernadette Peters is a renowned American actress and singer, born on February 28, 1948. With a career spanning over six decades, she has established herself as a critically acclaimed Broadway performer, having received numerous awards and nominations for her outstanding work. Peters began her career at a young age, performing on stage and screen as a child actress and teenager in the 1960s, including appearances on "Name That Tune," "Juvenile Jury," "The Horn & Hardart Children’s Hour," and "This is Goggle."
Peters' Broadway debut was in 1967 with "Johnny No-Trump," followed by starring roles in "George M!" and "Dames at Sea," which earned her a Drama Desk Award. Her performance in "Song and Dance" brought her both a Drama Desk and a Tony Award. She has also appeared in numerous other notable productions, including "The Most Happy Fella," "The Penny Friend," and "Gypsy" with a national touring company, as well as "Mack and Mabel," "Sunday in the Park with George," "Into the Woods," "The Goodbye Girl," "Annie Get Your Gun," "A Little Night Music," "Follies," and "Hello, Dolly!"
