Andy Grammer Biography

Andy Grammer, born in 1983 in Los Angeles, California, is an American music producer and singer-songwriter. He spent his childhood in Chester, New York, where he began to cultivate his musical talents at an early age by learning to play the piano, guitar, and trumpet. Grammer frequently performed at school functions and within his local community, laying the groundwork for his future career in music.

As a teenager, Grammer began writing his own songs and seriously considered pursuing a career in music. He graduated from California State University in 2007 with a degree in music. Following graduation, he performed in various venues around the Los Angeles area, gradually building a dedicated fan base and gaining more exposure in the music scene.

In 2010, Grammer caught the attention of a representative from S-Curve Records, leading to a recording contract that year. His self-titled debut album was released in 2011, receiving significant acclaim. The album included the hit single “Keep Your Head Up,” as well as other popular tracks like “Fine By Me” and “Miss Me.” In recognition of his rising talent, Grammer was featured on Billboard magazine’s “Artist to Watch” list in 2011, and he also served as the opening act for the Plain White T’s on tour.

Grammer's sophomore album, "Magazines or Novels," was released in 2014 and achieved considerable success. It produced the singles “Back Home” and “Honey, I’m Good,” the latter reaching the top forty on the charts. By 2015, he was actively touring and anticipated returning to the studio to work on new material.

On July 29, 2016, he released the single "Fresh Eyes," which went on to become a platinum hit, reaching #19 on the Spotify Global Viral 50 Chart. On June 9, 2017, he released "Give Love," featuring LunchMoney Lewis, and also contributed the song "A Friend Like You" to the animated film "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie."

Grammer's third studio album, "The Good Parts," was released on December 1, 2017, following the single "Smoke Clears." His subsequent single, "Don't Give Up On Me," released on February 21, 2019, was featured in the film "Five Feet Apart" and served as the lead single from his fourth studio album, "Naive," released on July 26, 2019.

In March 2022, Grammer announced he had signed with Mushroom Publishing, and in 2024, he released his fifth studio album titled "Monster," on October 4, 2024.
