Blue Man Group is an American performance art company formed in New York City in 1987 by Matt Goldman, Chris Wink, and Phil Stanton. Renowned for its unique stage productions, the company incorporates diverse music and art, appealing to both popular and obscure tastes. The group originated from the collaboration of Goldman, Wink, and Stanton in Manhattan's Lower East Side, starting with creative "disturbances" and small shows at downtown clubs before evolving into a full-length performance. Their first official show, *Tubes*, was commissioned by The CLUB @ La MaMa and subsequently moved off-Broadway due to its critical acclaim. The group maintains its mystique, with performers remaining in character and autographs provided with a smudge of blue paint.

Beyond stage shows, Blue Man Group expanded into film and television, music, and a children's museum exhibit ("Making Waves"). *Audio* was the first album released in 1999, followed by albums such as *The Complex* (2003), which featured guest vocals from Dave Matthews and Venus Hum.
