Julio Iglesias Jr., born in Madrid, Spain, is the son of the internationally renowned singer Julio Iglesias and famous model Isabel Preysler. Following his parents' divorce in 1979, he relocated to Miami with his younger siblings, where he later pursued higher education in California. His entry into the entertainment industry began with modeling, a path that quickly blossomed into opportunities in acting as well. Julio signed with the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency in New York, gaining acclaim through high-profile campaigns, including those for Versace and Gap, and collaborating with designer John Bartlett VII at the Sixth Fashion Show.
Transitioning from modeling to acting, Iglesias Jr. took roles in projects such as Out of the Blue and appeared on a Travel Channel program where he traveled across Latin America, sharing insights about Latin culture. This exposure ignited his desire to venture into music. His breakthrough came in 1999 when his song “Nothing Else” was featured in the film Music of the Heart. This initial success paved the way for his debut album, Under My Eyes, which included singles like “One More Chance” and the title track, showcasing his distinctive sound.
In 2003, Iglesias Jr. released his follow-up album, Tercera Dimension, followed by Por la Mitad in 2008. Around this period, he explored the country music genre with the release of “The Way I Want You,” marking his transition toward a different musical style. However, he eventually returned to his Latin roots by joining the group Latin Lovers in 2014. The collaborative album featured memorable tracks such as "Vous les femmes" and "La camisa negra," reaffirming his connection to Latin music.
In addition to his musical ventures, Iglesias Jr. has been involved in various television projects. He worked with Hola Magazine, participating in numerous photoshoots, and appeared on the Spanish comedy program Club de Flo, which, despite a short run, showcased his versatility. He gained further recognition by participating in the Spanish version of Dancing with the Stars, called ¡Mira quien baila!, where he showcased his dance skills before being eliminated in the thirteenth week. He also took on a lead role in the drama film The Music of You, directed by Lloyd DeSouza.
In 2008, Julio Iglesias Jr. gained significant attention when he won the first season of CMT's reality show Gone Country, which featured artists from various music genres competing in Nashville for a country music contract. His single “The Way I Want You,” released to country radio shortly after, was produced by John Rich, the show's host. His participation in this show solidified his commitment to pursuing a diverse range of musical styles.
In 2015, a milestone in his career came when he performed alongside his father in Romania, marking the first time they shared the stage together for a full concert. Their performances in cities like Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest drew enthusiastic crowds and furthered his connection to both his musical lineage and his audience.
