Amy Grant is a multi-platinum, award-winning American singer-songwriter and musician with a career spanning nearly four decades. Born on November 25, 1960, in Augusta, Georgia, Grant began her music journey in contemporary Christian music (CCM) before crossing over to pop music in the mid-1980s, earning her the title of "The Queen of Christian Pop."

Grant's music career started at a young age, with her first album, "Amy Grant," released in 1978, when she was just 17 years old. She went on to release several successful albums, including "Age to Age" (1982), which contained the signature track "El Shaddai" and became the first Christian album by a solo artist to be certified gold (1983) and platinum (1985).

In the mid-1980s, Grant began to widen her audience, releasing the album "Unguarded" (1985), which surprised some fans with its mainstream sound. She scored her first Billboard No. 1 song in 1986 with "The Next Time I Fall," a duet with Peter Cetera. Her subsequent albums, including "Lead Me On" (1988) and " Heart in Motion" (1991), solidified her position as a leading artist in both Christian and mainstream music.

Grant's album " Heart in Motion" became her best-selling album, selling over five million copies in the US, and produced several hit singles, including "Baby Baby," "Every Heartbeat," and "That's What Love Is For." She continued to release successful albums throughout the 1990s, including "House of Love" (1994) and "Behind the Eyes" (1997).

In the 2000s, Grant returned to her Christian roots, releasing albums such as "Legacy... Hymns and Faith" (2002) and "Rock of Ages...Hymns and Faith" (2005). She also hosted the reality TV show "Three Wishes" in 2005 and released a live CD/DVD, "Time Again... Amy Grant Live," in 2006.

Grant has won numerous awards, including six Grammy Awards, 22 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (2006). She has also been recognized for her philanthropic work, particularly with Compassion International, and was announced as a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 2022.
