Brian Littrell Biography

Brian Thomas Littrell was born on February 20, 1975, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Jacqueline "Jackie" R. and Harold Baker Littrell Jr. He has an older brother, Harold III, who is an actor and singer. Littrell's family is religious, and he was raised in a Baptist household. He began singing at a young age and performed his first solo at Porter Memorial Baptist Church when he was seven years old.

Littrell attended Tates Creek High School, where he was active in the school choir and performed in school plays, including a production of Grease. He also worked at a fast food chain and aspired to become a music minister. However, his life took a different turn when his cousin, Kevin Richardson, called him to inform him about an audition for a fifth member of the Backstreet Boys. Littrell flew to Orlando and auditioned for the group, eventually becoming a member.

The Backstreet Boys achieved immense success, becoming the best-selling boy-band in music history with record sales exceeding 130 million copies. Littrell's success with the group led him to pursue a solo career as a Christian musician. In 2006, he released his solo debut album, Welcome Home, which received critical acclaim and success. The album included singles such as "In Christ Alone," "Wish," "Over My Head," and "Welcome Home (You)," which all landed on the Top Twenty on the United States Christian charts.

Littrell's album Welcome Home has sold over 100,000 copies and charted on both the Billboard 200 and the Christian Charts. He won a GMA Music Award for the single "In Christ Alone." Littrell's solo career has allowed him to express his faith and connect with his Christian roots.

In addition to his solo career, Littrell has continued to work with the Backstreet Boys. The group reunited for their album Never Gone in 2005, and Littrell has since participated in several other projects with the group. In 2015, he was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame alongside his cousin and bandmate Kevin Richardson.

Littrell is also a family man and is the father of country singer Baylee Littrell. He has balanced his career with the Backstreet Boys and his solo work as a Christian musician.
