Austin Mahone, born on April 4, 1996, in San Antonio, Texas, is an American singer known for his rise to fame through social media platforms, particularly YouTube. He developed an early passion for music, learning to play drums, guitar, and sing. His musical journey began when he started recording performances, both solo and with a friend, and posting them online in the summer of 2010. This grassroots approach helped him build a loyal fan base, similar to other pop stars like Justin Bieber.

In 2012, Mahone was discovered by record producers Rocco Did It Again! and Mike Blumstein, which led to a signing with Chase Records in a joint venture with Republic Records. His debut single, "Say Somethin'," was released later that year, followed by "Say You're Just a Friend," featuring Flo Rida, both of which received gold certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His 2013 single, "What About Love," became his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and was also certified gold.
