After Romeo Biography
After Romeo was a music group based in Los Angeles, California, formed in late 2012 by Drew Ryan Scott, Jayk Purdy, and T.C. Carter after the disbandment of their previous project, Varsity Fanclub. The band later expanded to include members Blake English and Devin Fox, each contributing distinct backgrounds and experiences to the collective. Notably, Scott has written and produced for well-known artists such as Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and New Kids on the Block, while Purdy is a classically trained pianist with a history of musical achievement, and Fox began recording music as a teenager.
Blending elements of hip-hop, pop, and R&B, After Romeo gained initial traction by posting performance videos on YouTube. The band's popularity surged in 2014, particularly in Italy, where their music resonated with audiences. Radio Disney further amplified their reach by incorporating After Romeo's songs into their rotation, leading to the success of singles including "Love on Lock," "Save Some Snow," "Juliet," "Superhuman," "Thirsty," "Pass on You," "On Our Side," and "Souvenir."
In 2016, After Romeo signed with Sony Music Japan and released "The Story Continues...," an album exclusive to the Japanese market. This venture marked a significant milestone in their career and showcased the band's expanding international presence. However, following changes within the group, Devin Fox departed, leading to a rebranding of the band.
After reestablishing themselves, After Romeo released the "Good Things" EP, which was made available on all major streaming platforms. Unfortunately, despite their early promises and growing fanbase, After Romeo ultimately disbanded in 2017.
