Action Bronson Biography

Born Arian Asllani in 1983 in New York City, Action Bronson is a rapper and former chef known for his unique blend of hip-hop and culinary influences. Raised in the Queens area, Bronson developed a passion for cooking before shifting his focus to music in the late 2000s. He began preparing for a musical career, a transition that would ultimately prove to be successful.

In 2011, Bronson released his independent debut album, "Dr. Lecter," which garnered attention and established him as a promising talent in the rap scene. His sophomore effort, "Well Done," arrived in 2012, further increasing his visibility and attracting interest from major record labels. Bronson eventually signed with Atlantic Records through VICE and released his major label debut, the mixtape "Rare Chandeliers," which he collaborated on with producer The Alchemist in 2013.

Following this, Bronson released several projects, including the EP "Saaab Stories" in 2013 and a series of mixtapes, such as "The Program," "Blue Chips," and "Blue Chips 2," the latter two in collaboration with Party Supplies. His contribution to the track “1 Train,” featuring A$AP Rocky and Big K.R.I.T., showcased his versatility as an artist. Bronson has performed at prominent events, including the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and joined Eminem on his 2014 tour of Australia and New Zealand alongside Kendrick Lamar and 360.

Action Bronson's major label full-length debut album, "Mr. Wonderful," was released in 2014, marking a significant milestone in his career. On October 31, 2018, he announced his departure from Vice, the media company that had been instrumental in his music and television career.

In November 2018, Bronson embarked on a tour to promote his latest album, "White Bronco," which ran from February to March 2019. He revealed the title of his fifth album, "Only for Dolphins," on August 9, 2020, which was released on September 25, 2020. The album cover was painted by Bronson himself, and he described it as "ANOTHER BRIGHT THREAD WOVEN INTO THE TEXTURE OF THE COSMOS."

Bronson released his sixth studio album, "Cocodrillo Turbo," on April 29, 2022, featuring guest appearances from Roc Marciano and Conway the Machine. His seventh solo project, "Johann Sebastian Bachlava the Doctor," released on July 11, 2024, marked his first independent record in over a decade, including collaborations with Larry June and frequent contributors Meyhem Lauren and The Alchemist.

Beyond music, Action Bronson has made a name for himself in television and film. He starred in two shows on the Viceland channel: the food travel series "Fuck, That's Delicious" and the nightly talk show "The Untitled Action Bronson Show." He also appeared in the comedy documentary series "Traveling the Stars: Action Bronson and Friends Watch 'Ancient Aliens'." Additionally, he has had cameo roles in films such as "The Irishman" (2019) and "The King of Staten Island" (2020), and has engaged in professional wrestling, competing in his first match at AEW's Grand Slam event on September 23, 2022.
