Brooke Valentine Biography

Kanesha Nichole Brookes, better known by her stage name Brooke Valentine, is an American actress, model, singer, songwriter, and television personality, born on October 5, 1984, in Houston, Texas. She began her career as a member of the female group Best Kept Secret and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a solo career.

In 2004, Valentine signed with Virgin Records and released her debut single "Girlfight," featuring Lil Jon and Big Boi, which peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #13 on the R&B chart. The single's success led to the release of her debut album, Chain Letter, in 2005, which debuted at #16 on the US Billboard 200 and #3 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums charts.

Valentine's debut album, Chain Letter, sold over 290,000 units worldwide, and she released several singles, including "Long as You Come Home" and "Covergirl." She also collaborated with other artists, such as Fabolous and Yo Yo, on the single "Boogie Oogie Oogie" for the Roll Bounce soundtrack.

In 2006, Valentine began working on her second studio album, Physical Education, and released the lead single "D-Girl" featuring Pimp C. However, the project was put on hold due to Virgin Records' merger with Capitol Records in 2008. As a result, the album was not initially released, but material from the project was later released independently on the Physical Education Mixtape in 2009.

After taking a break from music, Valentine returned to the spotlight in 2012 with the release of new singles, including "Forever" and "Don't Wanna Be In Love," which peaked at #29 on the Billboard Adult R&B chart. She also released an EP titled Love Letters in 2013, which garnered a positive response.

In recent years, Valentine has continued to work on new music and has appeared on reality TV shows, including VH1's Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. She has released several digital singles, including "Grow Up," "#CRAIG," and "Games," and has been promoted to a series regular on the show. Valentine is currently working on her second studio album.
