A Day to Remember is an American rock band that originated in Ocala, Florida, in 2003. The band was initially formed by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs, later expanding to include vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, rhythm guitarist Neil Westfall, and lead guitarist Kevin Skaff. Known for their unique blend of metalcore and pop-punk, A Day to Remember quickly established themselves in the music scene.
In 2005, A Day to Remember signed with Indianola Records and released their debut album, And Their Name Was Treason. After the album's release, Scruggs was replaced by drummer Alex Shelnutt in 2006. The band's follow-up, For Those Who Have Heart, was released in 2007 through Victory Records. This album began to garner attention, moving into the top twenty on the Heatseekers chart.
A Day to Remember achieved significant success with their 2009 album Homesick, which not only debuted in the top twenty on the charts but also included the breakout single "Have Faith in Me." This album solidified their reputation and expanded their fanbase significantly.
Following Homesick, the band released What Separates Me from You in 2010. This album featured notable singles such as "All I Want" and "All Signs Point to Lauderdale." A Day to Remember continued to tour extensively after each album release, gaining a reputation for their energetic live performances.
In 2011, A Day to Remember found themselves in a legal dispute with Victory Records regarding their recording contract. This lawsuit continued for several years but in October 2013, the band was granted the ability to self-release new albums until a final decision was made. They took advantage of this situation by releasing their fifth studio album, Common Courtesy, later that month.
The band continued to develop their sound and released their sixth album, Bad Vibrations, in 2016. Their seventh studio album, You're Welcome, was released on March 5, 2021, marking their first project under Fueled by Ramen. On February 18, 2025, they released their eighth studio album, titled Big Ole Album Vol. 1. This album features tracks such as "Miracle" and "Feedback," along with two singles, "Make It Make Sense" and "LeBron." Initially available only as a physical release, the album is scheduled for streaming services on March 21, further solidifying the band's enduring presence in the rock music scene.
