Bo Bice Biography

Bo Bice was born on November 1, 1975, in Huntsville, Alabama. He moved to England as a teenager and grew up in the London area, where he developed an interest in guitar at the age of 14. Bice played with alternative rock bands in the area before forming his first band. By the mid-1990s, he had begun pursuing a full-time career as a musician, performing internationally and establishing several bands.

Prior to competing on American Idol, Bice had recorded the albums Ex Gratia and Recipe for Flavor with his bands. In 2004, he entered the American Idol competition as one of the oldest contestants in the show's history. Bice performed well on the show, drawing acclaim for his renditions of various songs. He finished in second place, behind Carrie Underwood.

After American Idol, Bice signed with RCA Records and released the song "Inside Your Heaven," which reached the top of the charts and achieved gold status. He also performed at music festivals, including Farm Aid and the Bonnaroo Music Festival. In 2005, Bice established his own band, SugarMoney, and released the album The Real Thing, which also rose to the top of the charts.

Bice continued to record and perform, releasing the album See the Light in 2007, which featured a more rootsy, southern rock sound. He formed his own record label, Sugar Money/StratArt, and released the album 3 in 2010. Bice has also made appearances on TV shows, including American Chopper and Don't Forget the Lyrics!, and has performed for US troops in Kuwait and Afghanistan.

In addition to his music career, Bice has been involved in various charitable activities, including volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Katrina assistance, and organ transplants. He has also donated instruments, music equipment, and personal memorabilia to be auctioned off for charities. Bice was honored with the Lifetime Presidential Volunteer Service Award for his volunteer work.

Bice has also been the lead singer of the band Blood, Sweat & Tears from 2013 to 2018. He has released several albums and has performed at various music festivals and events. Bice has undergone several surgeries due to recurring intestinal problems, but has continued to perform and record music throughout his career.
